One of the life giving practices from sabbatical that I’ve continued in this seasonare my long walks with God.

Last week as I walked in the cold I thought about the benefits of winter – no bugs, you can see birds more easily, and there is a quietness to your surroundings.

While it can be frigid, these conditions allow for more things to be noticed and a peace in your spirit as you walk.

As I walked I prayed to encounter the ‘winter seasons’ in my life in a similar way, looking for that which cannot be seen or experienced when everything is in ‘full bloom’.
