My partners give in so many ways. A week out from Giving Tuesday, I am taking the opportunity to say Thank You to those who have walked with me these past twenty and for some just this last year. Your multi-dimensional partnership is a tremendous blessing!

Thank you for your continued partnership to see witnessing communities on every corner of every campus! Donate today.
At the Meloch Thanksgiving table each person says something we are thankful for in the past year.
Over this year I have experienced incredible partnership from many – leadership mentoring, focused prayer commitments, extra gifts, words of encouragement, insightful questions, and so much more.
THANK YOU! Your partnership is incredibly enriching and encouraging. May God richly bless you this holiday season.
This weekend we are inviting 30 potential staff candidates to consider joining our missionary familia. Please pray for our time and consider if there are others you know (maybe yourself) who could join us.

Listening to Tim Keller’s sermon on “Generosity in Scarcity” provided a good challenge this week to deepen my view of giving.
I pray that this message blesses you as you follow God’s invitation to give sacrificially and joyfully.
InterVarsity in the Cedar Valley of Iowa partners with the college ministries staff of two churches to reach out to their local campuses. One of their joint programs is a weekly large group called BASIC at the University of Northern Iowa.
Over the last few years some small group Bible Studies have begun happening at Wartburg, a private college in Waverly, IA, which is about 20 minutes from UNI. The students in these small groups drive to BASIC when they can and one of the college ministry staff has been going up to Wartburg to coach the student leaders once a month.
Recently, the first BASIC was hosted in Waverly. About thirty Wartburg students came for a free meal and time of worship. Some then stayed to begin praying and brainstorming about what ministry could look like at Wartburg. One student shared that she longed for the ministry at Wartburg to reach out to the diverse groups and communities on campus.
Please pray for the ministry happening at Wartburg and for the staff team as they discern what it might look like to invest more time, energy, and resources in Waverly.
In April, the Kansas Area staff team took an exploratory tour of western Kansas college campuses. They checked out campus bookstores, talked to random students, learned about other student organizations, and asked God to bless and work at each school. They even met with some administrators who expressed eagerness in welcoming InterVarsity to campus.
As exciting as many of the stops were, it was also humbling as they realized that some of these campuses are five hours away from the nearest InterVarsity staff. At the trip’s end, they once again recognized how powerless we are to see the gospel go forward in our own strength.
Yet, we serve a God who can find a way to spread His good news, even to the furthest western parts of Kansas! Please continue to pray with the Kansas team as they ask God to plant a witnessing community at every one of these ten campuses. If you have a contact (student, staff, faculty, or community member) for one of the campuses, please let me know.
1,900 miles - 3 days - 2 cars
10 campuses
For the next three days (Apr 24-26), the Kansas Area team will be exploring and praying on every campus in the western half of Kansas! We are inspired by Acts 1:8 “… you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” We have seen God work miracles in Kansas City, in all of Lawrence and Manhattan, and now, we desire to see God work #totheendsofthestate!
Will you join with us in prayer as the staff visit these campuses? They will be posting pictures at every campus and a summary post at the end of each day on Facebook. Be sure to follow #totheendsofthestate to find out the latest news!
If you have contacts on any of these campuses, please let me know.
In early January, 1400 InterVarsity staff gathered in Orlando to be challenged, trained, encouraged and celebrate InterVarsity’s 75 years of ministry so far. Several themes from InterVarsity’s history arose during the week, such as our commitment to prayer and in-depth Scripture study and our countercultural embrace of students of all ethnicities and cultures. There was also a repeated theme of our staff members’ willingness to say yes to God in risky ways.
In one session Nebraska Area Directors, Eric and Stacy Rafferty, told their story which embodies all of these values as they seek to empower student leaders throughout their state. It was a blessing to have Area Directors from our region testify to God’s work. Please watch this testimony and celebrate with us God’s work in our region!
